03

You need to raise capital, or you will within the next eighteen months.

04

You want the genuine next step, not encouragement.

Testimonials

From the LEADERZ CLUB ALUMNI.

We are incredibly proud of the businesses and business owners that attended Leaderz Club and had their best years in business. See what they have to say about the program below.

The 12 sessions

Monthly sessions crafted specifically to take your business to the next level.

Twelve months, twelve themes — each one built to move a different part of your business forward.

January

Mindset for success

Business is 80% mindset. As a business owner/leader, do you have the right mindset to overcome all adversities and keep moving forward with conviction?

February

Business growth

Everyone wants their business to grow, but focusing on and understanding the most important factors for your stage in business is crucial.

March

Revenue and sales

Revenue and sales is about getting the money in, but it's also about having a clearly defined path to market and strong systems to get clients across the line and keep them happy.

April

Brand and marketing

Do you have a system that is highly tuned and delivers consistent results and leads to your business every month?

May

Financial intelligence

Know your numbers. Do you have the right financial systems set up and are you getting accurate and timely information to be able to make decisions? Are you actually hitting your financial goals?

June

Personal wealth creation

How to use your business as one part of your personal wealth creation plan so you can live a good life.

July

Relationships and networking

Business is not done between companies, it is done between people. Having a reputation in your industry and amongst your network is essential.

August

Capital raising and valuations

Raising capital can be a good move to get your business where you want it to be, faster. We have raised over $10m for ourselves and our clients over the last 7 years. Are you confident you know how to go about this to get the best deal for everyone involved?

September

People & culture

The backbone of the business. Without a happy and motivated team, there is no one to please the clients, innovate and perform at a high level to hit goals. This area is usually grossly under-appreciated.

October

Operations and systems

Operations and systems are the pillars that help your business scale and remain reputable during fast growth. Are you actually delivering what you are promising to the highest level in a scalable and sustainable way?

November

The end game

You may know why you got into the business, but do you know what the end game is and how to structure it so you protect and reward yourself properly for all of your years of hard work?

December

Boat party celebration and networking

Join the rest of the group and special guests from our network and business community for a day of celebration and networking on a superyacht on Sydney Harbour.

AJ Hackett International
AJ Hackett International logo

The AJ Hackett worldwide group of companies across 7 countries (Australia, New Zealand, France, Macau, Indonesia, Singapore & Russia), has over 500 staff, that represent the ultimate innovation and commitment to excellence in adventure tourism. The company has thrilled over 4 million customers since its inception in 1988.

Business Leaderz Group was approached by AJ Hackett through a referral to look into the business and eventually sit as Chair of the board and to be an advisor to the CEO and founder. AJ Hackett ultimately wanted to step back and focus more on the strategic aspects of the business.

  • Restructured the entire business globally, implementing stronger governance, board reporting systems, and global digital metrics
  • Succession plan replacing four General Managers across seven countries, ensuring stability for the next 10-20 years
  • Founder successfully stepped back from daily operations to focus on legacy and innovation
  • Increased global revenue by 12% over the following 2 years

I'm the creator of Bungy Jumping around the world and many other crazy activities. We've been involved in this business for over 30 years. Five years ago I met Rich Bell at an Unfiltered conference and quickly found out he was one of the smartest men I've met. Rich had a look at the company after which we invited him to work on the board. He was a breath of fresh air for everyone involved in the 7 countries we operate in. Every tin we opened was a can of worms, but with Rich's energy and input we became motivated and we took our company to a completely different level. I'd recommend to anybody out there that's an entrepreneur or established company that is looking to the future that Rich is your man.

National Business Review
National Business Review logo

The National Business Review (NBR) is a New Zealand online news publication aimed at the business sector. Todd Scott, the current CEO, bought the business off the previous owner in 2012.

NBR came to BLG because they needed to set up a board, transform their offline print newspaper into a digital subscription business and restructure the company to make sure it was sustainable in order to grow into the future. Rich came onboard in 2017 as chairman of the advisory board to help do exactly that.

  • Overhauled and built an entirely new online platform, increasing digital subscribers by 300%
  • Over 12,000 paying monthly subscribers - the only media company across Australia and NZ that doesn't rely on advertising revenue
  • Entire business restructured, with governance and board put into place
  • Business turned around and now healthy - BLG still chaired the board for 5 years.

You don't know what you don't know. But what we do know 100% is without Rich Bell's immense business acumen & total understanding of a modern day technology business along with his willingness to mentor us & head up our advisory board, NBR would be the way of a large number of media companies & newsrooms to close down around the globe. We could never work for anyone else, yet Rich has a way of holding me to account while at the same time being across all aspects of our business to ensure we strive to achieve revenue targets with a well communicated plan that every person in the newsroom understands.

Rich doesn't only advise businesses - he also backs them. Across fifteen years he has acquired equity, partnered with founders and led capital raises across eight countries.

Joy in Movement came out of this room. It was a Leaderz Club member business before Rich invested in it. He is now Co-Owner and Director. Growing from 3 locations open to 50, with over 150 sold across Australia and the UK.

Twelve months in a boardroom with him means he sees your numbers, your team, and how you operate under pressure. Occasionally that turns into a very different kind of conversation.

No promises. But the door is genuinely open, and it isn't open anywhere else.

FAQ

YOUR QUESTIONS ANSWERED.

It happens - you're running a business. Every session is recorded and loaded into the portal with the slides and any documents, so you can catch up. Your monthly call with Rich covers what you missed as it applies to you. That said, the room is the product, so the members who get the most out of it are the ones who protect the twelve days in their calendar from the start.

Members have flown in from interstate and from New Zealand before. One day a month is a manageable trip and the sessions run 9.30am to 4.30pm so a same-day return is possible from most capitals. Whilst in-person sessions are preferred, you can also join online through live video.

The application process will be rigorous to make sure the fit is right. Rich will cover this directly on your call, before you pay anything.

Yes, for most Australian businesses, professional development and advisory costs are deductible - but that depends on your structure and circumstances, so check with your accountant. Invoices are issued monthly with GST.

Thirty owners doing $1–10m, hand-selected across different industries and stages. Rich builds the group deliberately so that people aren't competing with each other and there's a genuine spread of experience. Past cohorts have included founders in marketing, recruitment, hospitality, health, music education, recruitment, health services & wellbeing, financial services, beauty, and marine tech.

The program is a year long and it ends with the superyacht day in December. Some members have joined for consecutive years, some have taken what they built and run with it, and a few have ended up in business with Rich or with each other. There's no ongoing commitment past the twelve months.

Rich isn't teaching a curriculum from direct and current experience. He is currently co-owner and director of a 50-site fitness group, owner of a tech company, and a fast growing childcare business with multiple locations. He has exited two national brands. The advice comes from lived experience and what he is using right now to build his own companies. If you want encouragement, this is the wrong room.
